Firefox tops 1 billion downloads

According to the folks at Mozilla, Firefox hit the 1-billion downloads mark today at approximately 6:45 a.m. EST. Mozilla will launch a new Web site on Monday to celebrate the milestone. Factoid: Using mobile Web browsers for local information grew by 34 percent in past year

comScore, a market researcher, reports the number of people who used mobile Web browsers to find local information grew 34 percent from March ‘08 to March ‘09. Mobile browser users numbered 20.7 million in ‘09, comScore says.
